Buying a Tag

Tags are sold from the 911PetFind website. One tag goes on one pet's collar - see Tags and Pairing for what happens next.

What is sold

Two collar tags: Standard (the everyday tracker) and Long-life (a larger coin cell and tougher case, for pets out in all weather). Both are sealed against water and dust, pair identically, and work the same way on The Mesh Network.

Tags ship without a battery. They take a standard coin cell available anywhere, and fitting one takes seconds. This is deliberate: an unbranded cell of unknown age is the difference between a tag that lasts months and one that dies quietly, so we would rather the owner fit a known-good branded battery than inherit ours.

Alongside them is 911PetFind Plus, an optional monthly or annual plan. The core network stays free - registering pets, the mesh, lost alerts and the public map cost nothing - and Plus adds extras such as full location history and unlimited pets. A plan needs an account; a tag does not.

Ordering

Choose a quantity, enter the email for the receipt, and pay by card. Payment and the delivery address are handled by Stripe Checkout, so 911PetFind never sees or stores card details. Orders are confirmed by email with a reference like PF-4X7K2.

The shop only sells what physically exists: if no tags are in stock, or checkout is not yet switched on, the page says so rather than taking money for something that cannot ship.

After you order

We post within two working days. When the tag arrives, open the app, go to your pet, tap Attach tag, hold the tag against the phone, and pair - the whole setup takes under a minute.

How stock works behind the scenes

Every physical tag exists in the system before it is sold, as an unassigned tag record of a particular tier - so a long-life order can never be filled with a standard tag. Buying one reserves that exact record for the order; pairing it later binds the same record to a pet and owner. That is why a tag works the moment it arrives, and why the platform can always answer "which tag went where".

Buying from the website or the app

Tags can be bought from the website today, and from the app as that is rolled out. App-store rules draw the line between digital and physical: purchases of digital features must go through the store's own billing, while physical goods must not - they are paid for directly, exactly as any other online shop works. A collar tag posted to your door is a physical good, so buying one in the app costs no store commission and is entirely normal.

The 911PetFind Plus plan is different, because it unlocks features inside the app. It is sold from the website.
